ESOS Assurance Fund
ESOS Fund Manager Reports
Section 80A of the Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000 (the ESOS Act) states that if there are calls made on the ESOS Assurance Fund because a education provider has defaulted, then the ESOS Assurance Fund manager must provide a report to the Minister for Education within 60 days after the provider default occurs.
Please note – A call on the ESOS Assurance Fund indicates the Fund Manager has determined that as a result of provider default, the provider and/or the Tuition Scheme Operator is unable to meet its obligations under the ESOS Act.
The “default date” is established by the ESOS Act (but in short, is the date that the education provider ceased to provide courses to Overseas Students).
