Australian Higher Education Seminars

Australian Education International North America (AEI NA) in partnership with the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO) and NAFSA: the Association of International Educators, are pleased to announce the fourth annual Australian Higher Education Seminar.

The seminar will provide North American education administrators with a unique professional development experience in one of the world’s most dynamic regions.

Participants will develop:
• In-depth understanding of the Australian education systems, including three-year degree recognition;
• Knowledge of Australia’s policies to increase student mobility to and from Australia;
• Relationships with key Australian institutions to build institutional partnerships;
• Knowledge of Australia’s research strengths, program offerings and quality assurance standards; and
• Understanding of Australia’s culture, diversity and place in the Asia-Pacific region.

The practitioner-level seminar will run from September 23 to October 8, 2008 and visit Canberra, Sydney, South Australia and Western Australia. Participation is open to US and Canadian directors/deans of international offices, registrars, admissions officers, study abroad officers, international student advisers, faculty members and others with a responsibility for post-secondary level programs and a demonstrated interest in furthering their institutions’ collaboration with Australian institutions. All professionals with an interest in building links with Australian institutions are encouraged to apply.

Participants will have the opportunity to attend the Australian International Education Conference in Brisbane October 7-11, 2008 on their own expense.
